Larvae: April-June in a tubular spinning in moss.  Adults: May-August.

Larval foodplants

A moss Dicranium scoparium.  Recorded in Europe from other mosses.

History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found at Kirkconnell, Kirkcudbrightshire, on 10th July 1976 by Sir Arthur Duncan, who found the first for Dumfriesshire at Kettleton on 13th July 1977, both specimens at National Museums Scotland, with the Wigtownshire first being found at Dranigower, near New Luce, on 14th July 2012.
