Identification

A distinctive rusty brown moth with a creamy band alon the upper forewings.

Recording Method

Can be attracted to light but most commonly found in situ in buildings.

Flight period

Any time of year. Most commonly from June-September.

Larval food

Stored foodstuffs including grains and flour.

Habitat

Warehouses, barns and houses. Not usually found outdoors.

History
