Recording method

Adult rests high up in the trees.  If dislodged, flies down and settles low down on the trunk.

Life cycle

Larvae present May-June.  Adults fly June-July, June-October.

Larval foodplants

Field Maple, sometimes Sycamore.

History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found at Kippford, Kirkcudbrightshire, on 27th September 2008, while the first for Dumfriesshire was found at Auldgirth on 13th July 2010, with the Wigtownshire first being found in 2016.
