Recording method

Adults may be found resting on tree-trunks.

Life cycle

Larvae present July-October.  The larva initially mines the leaf then feeds externally.  Adults fly May-June.

Larval foodplants

Common Alder and Bog-myrtle.

History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found at an unknown site in Dumfriesshire by a person unknown prior to 1975 (MOGBI data). However, it has since been found in this vice county.
