This rare resident was first located at Mersehead in 2011.

Sometimes comes to light.

Life cycle

Larvae: August-May, on leaves of trees and shrubs and then on dead leaves on the ground.  Adults: May-August.

Larval foodplants

Leaves of oak species, Bramble and hawthorn species, in a spinning among the leaves.

History

The first for Dumfries & Galloway was found at Mersehead RSPB, Kirkcudbrightshire, on 18th July 2011.
